Explore the advantages of Meditation.
Meditation is also completely FREE! It requires no special equipment, and is not complicated to learn. It can be practiced anywhere, at any given moment, and it is not time consuming (15-20 min. per day is good). Best of all, meditation has NO negative side effects. Bottom line, there is nothing but positive to be gained from it! With such a huge list of benefits, the question you should ask yourself is, “why am I not meditating yet?”

Team Project!

Festival of Lanterns, Fire and Fireworks.  Celebrating 20years at the Arts Station.  We went to the Arts Station to try our hand at making lanterns for the November 20th parade of light!  All fingers and toes... but fun was had by everyone.
There we were, deep in the creative spirit.  No one had done this before, but the creative process is a wonderful thing.  A problem leads to a design of magic.  Surrounded by inspiration, we pressed on.

Glue, tissue and bamboo were flying around the table.  Oz Parsons, Art Station Adminstrator, kept stressing the lack of time as there were only 2 more sessions to complete a lantern.  The pressure was on!  Little Ruby, 4 years old, wanted to make an owl.  Kaya of 9, suggested that would be too complicated.  To which Ruby replied, "Well, then I'll make a baby owl!"  Kids are brilliant! 

We continuted to race the clock.  But even with that in mind, Sunday is detail day.  The parade will be spectacular, there were a lot of talented people there and the creations are amazing!  It was so enchanting to see the light added to these masterpieces.  Amazing work!

Thanks to Lesley Graham for all her hard work in organising this project.  We look forward to seeing the parade light the streets on Nov. 20th.


Nov. 20th was a chilly one, but there was a great a great turn out and the lanterns looked amazing.  Check out the fire throwers in action!

We are always planning and thinking ahead.  In the beginning of September we met at the Fernie Golf and Country club for some serious planning, really, we were serious!  After sweating through our Vision for Elk Valley Family Chiropractic, we attempted to golf.  Some of us can actually golf, others, well, lets just say, some can drive that grass mighty far!

Client Appreciation Week

October 12 - 14 2010 was our Client Appreciation Week at Elk Valley Family Chiropractic.  We value and appreciate all our clients and want them to know it!  By creating a healthy community, we can enjoy our family, friends and so many more activities.
This is our Gratitude Tree.
We asked all our clients to write on a leaf anything they are grateful for.  Some clients had such a long list they used many leaves, or put a lot of information on one leaf.  Sadly, there are some people who have never thought of things that way.  We tend to forget to think of good things that happened in a day, from simple things like coming home to dinner made, or finding a five dollar bill in your pants pocket.  We should pause and reflect on all the good in our lives.

Our Client Appreciation Week always includes food, good quality food thanks to Cincott Organic Cafe, conveniently located two doors down.  Cindy and Scott work hard to produce organic food and run an organic market.  They are one of only 3 certified organic restaurants in BC. Check them out at http://www.cincottmarket.com/ or find them on Face Book.
